The Hotpoint AHHS15D3XXA Packaged Terminal Air Conditioner (PTAC) is a commercial through-the-wall heating and cooling system designed for hotels, motels, extended-stay properties, resorts, and other individually conditioned accommodations. Operating on 230/208V electrical service with a 20-amp connection, this 15,000 BTU-class unit delivers 14,700 BTU/h cooling at 230V and 14,500 BTU/h at 208V, together with 13,700/13,500 BTU/h of reverse-cycle heat-pump heating. A built-in 3.5 kW electric resistance heater provides backup heating when outdoor conditions limit heat-pump operation.

Unlike conventional PTACs that rely entirely on electric resistance heating, the AHHS15D3XXA uses a fixed-speed rotary compressor and reverse-cycle refrigeration system to provide primary heating during suitable outdoor conditions. With a published 3.0 coefficient of performance (COP) for heat-pump heating and 9.7 EER cooling efficiency, the system offers an alternative to electric-heat-only equipment. Automatic emergency heat allows the unit to transition to resistance heating when temperatures drop and heat-pump operation is no longer appropriate.

The AHHS15D3XXA incorporates hospitality-focused controls, including two selectable fan speeds, four temperature-limiting options, a coverless electronic control panel, and an automatically dimming LED display. Additional features include Freeze Sentinel protection, automatic indoor frost control, overheat protection, automatic power recovery, self-diagnostics, and constant-fan operation. These functions support everyday guest comfort while helping maintenance teams manage equipment across multiple rooms.

Designed for straightforward installation and service, the unit features a slide-in through-the-wall chassis measuring approximately 42.4 inches wide, 16 inches high, and 20.9 inches deep. Its factory-attached LCDI power cord with NEMA 3-20P plug supports connection to an appropriate 20A electrical circuit. Compatible Hotpoint wall sleeves, exterior grilles, subbases, replacement filters, and remote thermostat accessories are available separately, making the model suitable for new construction and properly verified replacement projects.

Using R-32 refrigerant, the Hotpoint AHHS15D3XXA combines high-capacity room cooling, heat-pump heating, and electric resistance backup in a familiar commercial PTAC format. Its slinger-ring condensate removal system, removable air filters, electronic diagnostics, and accessible control panel help simplify routine maintenance.
