A guest room readiness inspection should evaluate cleanliness, safety, comfort, functionality, presentation, and compliance with property or brand standards. Hotels may inspect lighting, climate control, televisions, remote controls, Wi-Fi access, electrical outlets, charging ports, appliances, safes, plumbing fixtures, furniture, accessories, and room amenities.
Inspectors should evaluate the room from the guest's perspective rather than simply confirming that each product is present. A television may power on but still have incorrect channels or settings. A refrigerator may operate but create excessive noise. A PTAC unit may provide conditioned air but respond slowly or produce an unusual odor.
A comprehensive inspection helps identify issues before they affect a guest and supports a more consistent arrival experience.
