A cutover plan defines how and when a hotel will transition from an existing system to its replacement. It typically identifies the sequence of activities, responsible parties, affected rooms or systems, testing requirements, communication procedures, and contingency steps. For connected technologies, the plan may also identify the point at which the legacy platform stops serving guests and the new environment becomes operational.

Clear cutover procedures are particularly important when a transition affects many guestrooms simultaneously or involves multiple technology providers.
