Removing legacy infrastructure too early can eliminate useful contingency options. Keeping obsolete systems indefinitely, however, can create confusion, consume space, increase support complexity, and leave undocumented infrastructure throughout the property.

Hotels should define the legacy retirement process as part of the migration plan, including equipment disposition and documentation updates.
